PREVENTION OF THE SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS

NABISA POLICY REGARDING PREVENTING OF THE SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS

In order to limit the spread of the Coronavirus in South Africa, while continuing their work in the real estate and building industries, the National Association of Building Inspectors of South Africa (NABISA) has recommended that home inspectors and building inspectors should observe the following safety precautions while inspecting homes, other buildings and building sites.  NABISA members must commit to signing and carrying with them, a hard copy or an electronic copy of the following daily declaration.

DAILY DECLARATION BY NABISA MEMBER

Every inspector, who is a member of the National Association of Building Inspectors of South Africa (NABISA) must complete and sign a NABISA Coronavirus declaration at the start of each working day.  This declaration shall be shown, on request, to homeowners, building and building site supervisors and law enforcement officials.

I declare that I do not have any of the following symptoms of infection by the Coronavirus.

ÔÇó Loss of taste or sense of smell.

I undertake to wear a face mask at all times while conducting my work as a building and home inspector.

I undertake to carry and use hand sanitizer at frequent intervals.

I declare that, to the best of my knowledge, I have not been in contact with anyone with COVID-19 and I am not a carrier of the Coronavirus.

Nabisa has engaged with Home Inspection Company HouseCheck to develop an application for inspectors to make their daily declarations. This application will be made available to all building and home inspectors in South Africa in the interests of promoting a safe industry.
